英文的過去進行式用來表達過去某一特定時間內正在持續或進行的動作。一般而言，過去進行式的句型為was/were+現在分詞(Ving)
1.過去持續進行：Workers were fixing the house from last Monday to Friday.(工人們在上禮拜一到五正在整修房子)
2.表示過去進行：Jack was doing his homework then.(Jack那時正在做他的作業)
