一、英文的助動詞must，能夠表達以下之意義：
(一)必須、一定：You must finish this work tonight.(你今晚必須完成這個工作)
(二)不可以、不能(+not，否定句)：One must not ride the scooter at the expressway.(不可以騎機車上高速公路)
(三)肯定、一定(高度可能性的推測)：Alex held Amy's hand. They must see each other.(Alex牽著Amy的手，他們肯定在交往)
與have to比較：
必須、一定：兩者意思相同，可相互代換
不可以、不能：must not表示｢禁止」；do not have to則表示｢不必、沒必要｣
