英文not only… but also與both… and用法(Usage of not only but also and both and in English)

1.not only… but(also)表示｢不但…而且…｣，而both… and表示｢既…又…｣，兩者可連接兩個相同詞性的字或片語

例如：The cellphone is not only light but (also) powerful.(這支手機不但輕且功能強大)

2.｢Not only A but also B…｣連接兩個主詞時，動詞單複數由接近動詞的主詞B決定。但｢Both A and B…｣連接兩個主詞時，動詞必須用複數動詞。

Not only May but also Jack is from Australia.(May和Jack都來自澳洲，在not only…，動詞依據較靠近的Jack)

=Both Mary and Jack are from Australia.
