英文時間連接詞(Conjunctions of time in English)

在英文中，時間連接詞表示不同時事情間時間發生先後的關係，時間連接詞包括before、after、when、while。

時間連接詞能夠置於句中或句首，但放於句首時必須加逗號與後面子句隔開

連接詞	使用情形
before	表示兩件事情有發生先後	表示在…之前
after		表示在…之後
when	表示兩件事情同時發生	當…(未強調動作正在發生)
while		當…(強調動作正在發生)

例句

He ate the breakfast before he went to school.

=Before he went to school, he ate the breakfast.(他在上學前吃了早餐)

He played basketball after he finished the homework.

=After he finished the homework, he played basketball.(他寫完功課後去打籃球)

He listened to music when he ate dinner.

=When he ate dinner, he listened to music.(當他吃晚餐時，他聽著音樂)

Mary saw Jack while she was talking to her classmate.

=While Mary was talking to her classmate, she saw Jack.(當Mary和同學講話時，她看到了Jack)
