英文單複數(Singular and plural in English)

英文中區分單數與複數，單數表示描述事物只有1個，而複數則有2個或以上，通常只要在單字字尾加上s即能表示複數型，但有部分單字為須跟著字尾而做不同的複數變化，也有部分單字屬於單複同型。

一般情況	加上s
字尾為子音(輔音)+y	去掉y加ies	fly→flies baby→babies lady→ladies cherry→cherries city→cities
字尾為s、ss、sh、ch、x	加上es	glass→glasses bus→buses dish→dishes watch→watches box→boxes
字尾為o	有加上s或es，也有加s、es皆可者	zoo→zoos radio→radios piano→pianos bamboo→bamboos photo→photos hero→heroes potato→potatoes go→goes cargo→cargos/cagoes zero→zeros/zeroes mosquito→mosquitos/mosquitoes
字尾為f或fe	有加上s，部分為去f或fe後加上ves	proof→proofs roof→roofs chief→chiefs safe→safes wife→wives leaf→leaves knife→knives thief→thieves wolf→wolves half→halves
單複同形	單數和複數的型態相同	fish, deer, dozen
特殊變化	-	man→men woman→women child→children ox→oxen foot→feet tooth→teeth
