英文中，分子以基數表示(也就是一般的數字)，分母則以序數表示(也就是表達｢第…｣的序數)，分母的序數在數字後加-th，在分子大於一時，分母序數後加上-s。
1/5=one fifth
3/7=three sevenths
1/2=one second
2/3=two thirds
3/10=three tenths
5/6=five sixths
7/15=seven fifteenths
2/5=two fifths
2/7=two sevenths
