英文both和all的用法(Usage of both/all in English)

Both用於兩者之情形，表示兩者都…；all則用於三者或三者以上情形，表示全部都…。

一、both和all可以放在句中以下位置：

1. 在be動詞前或後，例如Taiwan and Japan are both part of Asia.=Taiwan and Japan both are part of Asia.

2. 在一般動詞前面，例如：Students all do homework after school.

3. 在句首，但其後的複數名詞不可為代名詞
句型：Both/All+the/these/those/所有格+複數名詞+複數動詞。
例如：Both the books are good. All those students are diligent.

二、另外，both/all也可當代名詞用，指先前提過的事物。例如：A:Which language can you speak, Chinese, English or Japanese? B:I can speak all of them.

三、表示部分否定：Not both/all(並非全部的…)

Not all the students are good at English.(並不是全部的學生都擅長英文)
